Sports and Interests

Here, I will list some of the sports and interests I have!I love all sports, anything that gets my blood flowing makes me really happy. Unfortunately, due to time restrictions, I can only get good at a few sports.
.
SkiingSkiing is one of my favourite activities, I am able to ski a double black diamond slope, usually with no trouble at all. I have yet to go on a triple black diamond, and is looking forward to it! I’m still working on my carving skills.
.
SnowboardingAfter skiing, you have to wonder how those snowboarders always felt. So I gave it a try and loved it! I just began snowboarding, so far I can carve down a green slope and survive a blue one.
.
TennisI have recently took tennis up, I’m not too good at tennis yet, but I can at least play a game without the ball flying going completely out of control now. =)
.
Martial ArtsI took around a month and a half of karate in the summer of 2009, and I recently joined waterloo’s karate club. I’m still a white belt, but I’m already learning some really cool moves and I’m hoping to get better!
.
RollerbladingThis is a really fun and useful skill to have, almost like riding a bike except much more fun! I can rollerblade pretty well, I’d rather rollerblade than walk somewhere… unless we’re talking about uphill.
.
SkatingYou can’t know how to ski and rollerblade and not know how to skate at the same time. =)
.
ReadingI really like reading and it makes me feel comfortable, which is very beneficial when it comes to school (Although this feeling… changes a bit during exam times). =D Recently I’ve developed a liking for all kinds of non-fiction books because they contain a lot of information. Part of why I wanted to create a blog is to be able to share this information. However I do miss fiction books, which I admit I haven’t read in a while.
.
Video GamesYes, I like video games. I have even tried making a few games of my own. I find video games stimulating, enriching, and fun at the same time. Some games really need you to use your head, others allows you to experience something that you otherwise will never experience, and some games are just really good stress relievers! Of course there has to be a certain level of control when you play them (which I’m working on).
.
AnimeI really like watching anime, usually Shonen anime with a lot of action. I don’t usually read manga, but sometimes I will read parts of it to claify something in the anime. I like Anime mainly because of the great plots, but recently I’ve grown to appreciate the art as well. I used to experiement with drawing anime characters a bit, as well as colouring on photoshop, but that was just for fun.
.
Web Development/Design/ProgrammingYeah, I really like working with the computer! I always found technology fascinating, and why shouldn’t it be? I think being computer and web literate is a requirement not a skill. We live in a world surrounded by technology, it’s no longer just the IT guy or the programmer that needs to know a thing or two about computers and technology. It’s a communication thing, and once you understand how some of the technology works around you, it opens many doors and will facilitate communication and understanding.
.
Sports that have tried, really liked, but haven’t developed yet:
- All the sports I played in school, this include soccer, basketball, softball, floor hockey etc.
- Horseback riding
- Gliding (plane)
- Mountain Climbing (I’m actually pretty good at this, but anyone can climb a mountain)
- Swimming
